Frequently Asked Questions

  • How to make suction cups stick?

If your suction cups are not sticking to your smooth mounting surface you are probably using an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do. If you are trying to stick to a textured mounting surface ordinary suction cups don’t have a chance. FrogsFeet Suction Cups have a specially designed polymer seal that conforms and sticks to just about every nonporous surface regardless of its smooth or textured. Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package!

  • How to make suction cups stick better?

  • How do suction cups work?

Suction cups work when one pushes down on the middle evacuating the majority of air that was under the concave surface creating a vacuum and sealing the cup to the smooth surface. It’s a battle between the cup wanting to spring back up and the atmospheric pressure pushing back that forms the delicate vacuum seal toward the center of the cup. FrogsFeet Suction Cups work on the same principle but are applied and function quite differently. First, you press down on the middle and hold while firmly pressing and sliding your finger around the perimeter seal. This conforms and sticks the seal to the mounting surface creating a robust airtight bond. When you remove finger pressure the FrogsFeet cup or as we like to call it the “armature” also tries to spring back to its original shape, but is pushed back by atmospheric pressure. Unlike ordinary suction cups where only about 60% of the cup's actual surface area is under vacuum, FrogsFeet with its unique matte finish allows for a much bigger vacuum area that extends all the way to the perimeter seal increasing the sideways holding power on smooth surfaces.

  • How to get suction cups to stick to glass?

If your suction cups are not sticking to a glass surface you are probably using an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do! Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup inside the surface or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package! FrogsFeet Suction Cups are different in that they have a specially designed polymer seal that conforms and sticks to just about every nonporous surface producing an airtight seal. The cup body or as we like to call it the “armature” has a matte finish that allows the suction area to extend all the way out to the perimeter seal. This area is much smaller with ordinary suction cups. The increased surface area under vacuum in turn increases the sideways holding power of FrogsFeet. And with a simple tug on the tab, FrogsFeet will peel from the glass surface with little or no residue.

  • How to get suction cups to stick to tile?

If your suction cups are not sticking to your tile surface you are probably using an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do and if you are trying to stick to a textured tile surface ordinary suction cups just don’t have a chance! Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package! FrogsFeet Suction Cups have a soft, resilient, perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to all the surface imperfections on the mounting surface and creates a robust airtight-watertight barrier. The cup body or as we like to call it the “armature” has a matte finish that allows the suction area to extend all the way out to the perimeter seal. This area is much smaller with ordinary suction cups. The increased surface area under vacuum in turn increases the sideways holding power of FrogsFeet. FrogsFeet also mount to textured tile surfaces whereas regular suction cups don’t have a chance!

  • How to make suction cups stick again?

Ordinary suctions may stick again if you clean them with soap and water to remove any dust or dirt. If the plastic cup has flattened out the vacuum will be weak and the cup's delicate seal to the surface will probably fail. FrogsFeet Suction Cups can be used and reused again and again provided the soft resilient perimeter seal is not dirty. If the seal is dirty follow our easy cleaning instructions with soap, water, and small brush.

  • How to make suction cups stick in the shower?

If your suction cups are not sticking in the shower you are probably using an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do and if you are trying to stick to a textured tile surface ordinary suction cups just don’t have a chance! Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package! FrogsFeet Suction Cups will stick in the

shower because they have a specially designed perimeter seal that conforms and bonds to shower surfaces creating an airtight and watertight barrier. Unlike ordinary suction cups that allow water to seep under the cup's rim causing sliding, FrogsFeet stays dry under the cup and resists sideways movement. FrogsFeet also mount to textured surfaces whereas regular suction cups don’t have a chance!

  • How to clean suction cups?

Like ordinary suction cups, FrogsFeet Suction Cups can be cleaned with soap and water. Simply dispense some dish detergent on the inside concave surface, add a little water and create a lather. Now with a small bristle brush (an old toothbrush works great!) scrub seal surface removing dust and dirt. See our seal cleaning video on out website www.frogsfeet.com.

  • How to apply suction cups?

The way to apply FrogsFeet Suction Cups is quite unique compared to ordinary suction cups in which you press down at the center and remove your finger. To properly apply FrogsFeet place the cup on the surface and press center and hold. Now seal by firmly pressing and sliding your finger twice around the edge. This creates a robust airtight/watertight barrier that conforms to surface imperfections and will withstand temperature extremes.

  • How to make suction cups stay?

If your suction cups are not sticking to a glass smooth surface you are probably using

an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do! Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup inside the surface or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package! You can keep your suction cup from falling down by using “The Suction Cup That won’t Give Up!” - FrogsFeet Suction Cups. FrogsFeet has a specially designed perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to the mounting surface creating an airtight-watertight seal that will withstand all types of environments indoors and out.

  • How long to leave suction cups on?

It all depends on the material the suction cup is made from, its design, and the environment it is exposed to. FrogsFeet Suction Cups are warranted for 1 year, but we have had customers tell us they have stayed put for years.

  • How long will a suction cup hold?

It all depends on the material the suction cup is made from, its design, and the environment it is exposed to. FrogsFeet Suction Cups are warranted for 1 year, but we have had customers tell us they have stayed put for years.

  • How to clean a sticky suction cup?

Like ordinary suction cups, FrogsFeet Suction Cups can be cleaned with soap and water. Simply dispense some dish detergent on the inside concave surface, add a little water and create a lather. Now with a small bristle brush (an old toothbrush works great!) scrub seal surface removing dust and dirt. See our seal cleaning video on our website www.frogsfeet.com.

  • How to hang shower curtain liner with suction cups?

To hang a shower curtain liner with suction cups, space out the cups in equal increments on the mounting surface. Then hang the curtain hooks from the suction cup hooks. FrogsFeet Suction Cups would be ideal for this application especially if you are trying to mount to a textured shower surface.

  • How to make suction cups stick to the wall?

If your suction cups are not sticking to the wall you are probably using an inferior suction cup because that’s what suction cups are designed to do! Some suction cup manufacturers suggest wetting your suction cup inside the surface or warm your suction cup to get them to work better. You should not have to do anything! They should just work right out of the package! FrogsFeet Suction Cups will stick to all types of nonporous smooth and textured walls from fiberglass to tile, but they are not recommended for painted sheetrock walls due to porosity.

  • How to repair suction cups?

It is difficult to repair a suction cup if the plastic cup has flattened out because the vacuum will be weak and the cup's seal to the surface will fail. Washing the surface may help by removing dust and dirt. FrogsFeet Suction Cups typically will not need repairing, but if the seal gets dirty it may lose some of its tacks. Simply wash with soap and water. See our “How to clean the Seal” video at www.frogsfeet.com.

  • Do suction cups wear out?

Yes, suction cups do wear out! The plastic cup can flatten out over time, the vacuum will weaken and the cup's seal to the surface will eventually fail. FrogsFeet Suction Cups are not immune to the cup flattening over time, but with our robust perimeter seal our cups will stay put even if the cup has flattened some overtime.

  • How much weight can suction cups hold?

Ordinary suction cups will only mount on smooth surfaces and typically hold from 1 to 10 lbs. depending on the diameter of the cup. FrogsFeet Suction Cups will hold up to 8 lbs. on smooth surfaces and up to 3 lbs. on textured surfaces. The impressive part of FrogsFeet is that you not only get a multi-surface suction cup, but you get a suction cup that will stay mounted in all types of weather extremes from hot to bitterly cold

and windy. So if you want “The Suction Cup that Won’t Give Up” get FrogsFeet.

  • How do you keep a suction cup from falling down?

You can keep your suction cup from falling down by using “The Suction Cup That won’t Give Up!” - FrogsFeet Suction Cups. FrogsFeet has a specially designed perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to the mounting surface creating an airtight watertight seal that will withstand all types of environments indoors and out.

  • Why do suction cups stop working?

Yes, suction cups do wear out! The plastic can flatten out over time, the vacuum will weaken and the cup's seal to the surface will eventually fail. FrogsFeet Suction Cups are not immune to the cup flattening over time, but with our robust perimeter seal our cups will stay put even if the cup has flattened some overtime. FrogsFeet Suction Cups are warranted for 1 year, but we have had customers tell us they have stayed put for several years.

  • Will suction cups stick to a cold window?

If your suction cups are not sticking to your cold window surface you are probably using an inferior suction cup that becomes too rigid to properly form a vacuum seal between the cup and the glass. FrogsFeet Suction Cups stay put on cold windows because they are designed to withstand temperature extremes. They have a soft, resilient seal that conforms and sticks to just about any nonporous mounting surface. The resilience of the seal withstands the expansion and contraction of the cup and mounting surface to stay put unlike ordinary suction cups that lose their ability to seal

when they get hard due to cold temperatures.

  • Why does a suction cup stick to a flat surface?

Ordinary suction cups only stick to flat or glass-smooth surfaces because the delicate vacuum seal the forms between the cup and smooth surface cannot fill gaps in a rough mounting surface. FrogsFeet Suction Cups on the other hand mount to just about any nonporous surface from smooth to highly textured. The first key feature that distinguishes us from the competition is the soft, resilient perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to the mounting surface and creates a robust airtight-watertight barrier. The second key feature of FrogsFeet is the cup or as we like to call it “armature” has an inside matte finish that allows the vacuum to extend all the way to the seal whereas on ordinary suction cups this area is much smaller. The result is increased sideways holding power on smooth surfaces.

  • Do suction cups work on painted walls?

Ordinary suction cups will not stick to painted walls for a couple of reasons - surface roughness and porosity of the surface. FrogsFeet Suction Cups will stick to all types of nonporous smooth and textured walls from fiberglass to tile, but they are not recommended for painted sheetrock walls due to porosity.

  • How do you get suction cups to stick to a textured bathtub?

Ordinary suction cups do not stick to textured surfaces, but FrogsFeet Suction Cups were designed with textured surfaces in mind. FrogsFeet has a soft, resilient, perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to all the surface imperfections on the mounting surface and creates a robust airtight-watertight barrier. The high friction cup or armature creates a kind of stiction that prevents sliding and the specially designed hook uses the weight of the object you are hanging to increase the vacuum and further tightening FrogsFeet to the mounting surface.

  • How do you get suction cups to stick to textured tiles?

Ordinary suction cups do not stick to textured surfaces, but FrogsFeet Suction Cups were designed with textured surfaces in mind. FrogsFeet has a soft, resilient, perimeter seal that conforms and sticks to all the surface imperfections on the mounting surface and creates a robust airtight-watertight barrier.
